What’s the biggest obstacle to dressing up in Boston? Winter weather. Most night-out looks rely on miniskirts and tank tops, which aren’t the most suitable options for a Boston night out on the town. But with a little help, these staples can transform into outfits that are just as cozy as they are cute. So if you want to look hot and stay warm, use these tips:

  1. Hand Warmers

A classic hack to keep your hands warm: instant hand warmers! When wearing a cute, going-out jacket, throw a few hand warmers inside your bag or coat pockets for some easy warmth. For especially cold nights, wear some chic leather gloves with hand warmers inside for even more heat. They’re an affordable and easy solution to braving the bitter cold while not adding too many layers.

  1. Fitted Layers First

Speaking of layers, they’re the secret to feeling fashionable in winter weather. Learning the basics of layering can instantly level up your style from simple to stunning. The single most important rule of layering: wear fitted layers first! When getting ready for a night out in freezing temperatures, throw on a form-fitted body suit under your going-out top. Wearing a skirt or shorts? Tights are your new best friend. Bonus points if your lower layers are fleece-lined.

  1. Boots

Boots are a classic winter shoe, and for good reason. They provide warmth and comfort without sacrificing style. A good knee-high boot is a wardrobe staple and a winter fashion mainstay. Whether you prefer black, brown, heeled, or flat, there’s no shortage of styles to choose from to perfectly match any outfit! Add some thick boot socks underneath for extra warmth and coziness.

  1. Classic Winter Accessories

How could I talk about winter fashion without mentioning winter accessories? Pairing a simple outfit with the right additions is the key to leveling up a chilly night-out look to a warm winter fashion statement. Swap your usual hat for some fuzzy earmuffs. Add a big, felt scarf for an ultra-chic yet cozy outfit upgrade. And of course, some leather gloves to complete the look.

Remember, you don’t have to freeze in the Boston winter just to look cute on your next night out! Use functional accessories, wear tights or bodysuits under your outfits, and try hand warmers for especially cold nights. With these easy tips, you can own the night and skip the frostbite!
