Boston’s Back Bay is tried and true and houses some of Boston’s most popular spots for dining and nights on the town. And after several years of trial and error, I have finally found some of the best hidden gems in the area.

Back Bay Social (867 Boylston)

Perfect for: A post-shift drink at an industry staple in the neighborhood. Back Bay Social has mastered the late-night pub vibe, while the daytime boasts a full menu and the perfect view of Boylston. And if you go past 12AM, you’re bound to run into most of the area’s bar and restaurant crew letting loose after a long shift.

Earls Kitchen & Bar (The Prudential Center)

Perfect for: A girls night out. Nestled in the Pru between Sephora and Aritzia is your new favorite spot for appetizers and pre-dinner drinks. It’s founded on a carefully crafted mixology program and a mission to become a hub for innovative world cuisine.

Foxhole (269 Newbury)

Perfect for: Someone wanting a literal underground gem on Newbury Street. What started as “Pinky’s” has evolved into the perfect spot for sports-bar glamour and the ideal GNO.

The Corner Tavern (421 Marlborough)

Perfect for: If you want something accessible from all parts of Back Bay, whether the Commons or the MIT grounds. The Corner Tavern is a casual, hole-in-the-wall location for a chill drink or any late-night conversation that the usual pub gets too crowded for.

Perfect for: An older, more reserved crowd, wanting a sports bar and Irish pub all meshed into one. With a classic Irish pub menu and late hours, catch more industry folk coming here to enjoy a night in Back Bay.

Dillon’s (955 Boylston)

Perfect for: Right off Boylston Street, Dillon’s has your new favorite hot honey pizza: The “Hot Honey Roni.” Other than their extensive menu and creative cocktail list, Dillon’s is positioned perfectly to people-watch the Back Bay crowd.

Flour Bakery + Cafe (131 Clarendon St)

Perfect for: A casual cafe vibe with a full menu and creative specialty lattes. Spend hours here doing work or checking off each craft sandwich from the menu on your next visit!

My personal Favorite: Buttermilk & Bourbon (160 Commonwealth Ave)

Perfect for: A vibrant night out, with dazzling decor and a to-die-for cocktail menu. Buttermilk & Bourbon is my absolute favourite spot for a quick bite and some easily photographable moments.
