With the plethora of pumpkin-flavored food hitting the markets and the timely addition of Starbucks holiday beverages, autumn is in full force. In celebration of Thanksgiving and the upcoming holiday season, the music team has collaborated to bring you a playlist filled with gratitude. Whether it be through a heartfelt ballad or a rock-driven anthem, here are some songs that give thanks—even if it’s meant sarcastically.

"Thank You" by Kehlani

A sweet song that features her near-angelic vocals, "Thank You" is a tribute to all the people in Kehlani's life that helped her get to where she is today. Although simple, the song genuinely expresses gratitude to those who are important. – Georgia Kotsinis

“The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us!” by Sufjan Stevens

Not only a great autumn song, but also a beautiful declaration of gratitude in the face of adversity; this is perfect for the Thanksgiving season. With lyrics that evoke the indecision of youth, and all the doubt that comes with coming of age and finding love the song feels tender and emotionally raw without ever losing a sense of worldliness and thankful acceptance. – Paul Stokes

“Godspeed” by Frank Ocean

Contrasting the dark tones of 2016’s Blonde with a muted, self-assured and uplifting gospel song, Frank Ocean gives thanks to those he has loved and lost as they are who have made him the person he is today. It is perfect for those in the mood for emotional resolution, without all the uncertainty and pain—beautiful as they may be—that come before it. – Paul Stokes

“Thank God for Girls” by Weezer

Weezer is known for their straightforward lyrics and simple melodies. In this track, front man Rivers Cuomo takes it back to their pop roots with a jingly piano and a catchy hook that everyone can shout along to. – Claire Tran

“Thanks A Lot” by Third Eye Blind

Revisit a classic ’90s bands and rediscover a hidden gem off their debut album. Third Eye Blind combines falsetto and punchy guitar for the perfect soundtrack to roll your eyes and sarcastically mutter, "Thanks a lot!" – Claire Tran

"Thanks for the Venom" by My Chemical Romance

This song off Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is straight from the glory days of emo. Sarcastic and angst-y as all hell, this is the perfect song to lock yourself in the bedroom and listen to when the extended family gets irksome. – Cole Schoneman

"What a Girl Wants" by Christina Aguilera

Fitting in comfortably with other pseudo R&B of the late ’90s, this iconic love song is perfect for your feminist Thanksgiving festivities. – Cole Schoneman

“Thank You” by Sly and the Family Stone

A song that goes out to your parents finding that tattoo you go two months into freshman year of college. – Nathan Bindseil

“Thank You” by Blood Orange

Blood Orange's ballad is so smooth and melodic; it may actually put you to sleep—just like the Thanksgiving turkey. – Nathan Bindseil
